The launch of the published report "Youth Employment in Armenia" in the frames of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) Acceleration Framework will take place on June 5, 2013 in Tsakhkadzor, Armenia.

This report is part of a wider UN effort to support countries in overcoming challenges and achieving off-track MDG targets by 2015.

The 2013 Millenium Development Goals (MDG) Global Conference: “Making the MDGs Work – From Advocacy through Implementation to Acceleration and Beyond” will be held in Bogotá, Colombia from 27 to 28 February 2013. The conference is expected to further maintain momentum towards the MDGs while also allowing for reflection on the lessons learned from the countries’ own experience that will be useful for a development agenda beyond 2015.

UNDP VET Project will be presenting the newly develped 3 E-Learning Courses:

• Operation and maintenance of Transport Means;
• Technology of milk, cheese and fat production;
• Implementation of Finishing Works

UNDP VET Project will present the 12 newly published Manuals and Teachers’ Guides developed in Armenian language based on the already updated competency-based State Qualification Standards and Modular Programs.

Manuals with the corresponding Teacher Guides will be made available for the practical and professional teaching in the modular curriculum of professions developed for relevant for economic growth sectors with the special emphases in agriculture and food processing; tourism and services; construction and technical artisan.

UNDP VET project organizes 4-day training in June, 2012 for VET Faculty, in particular for VET Institutions' Directors and Vice-Directors with the program proposed by the RA Ministry of Education and Science.

Dafina Gercheva, UN Resident Coordinator/UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia, visited Vayots Dzor and Ararat Regional State Colleges to get familiarized on the ground with the UNDP support aimed at upgrade of facilities within VET institutions, http://www.vet.am/en/Gallery/104.

“Vocational Education and Training (VET) System” Project had initiated one-week study tour entitled “Strengthening Social Partnership in Vocational Education of the Republic of Armenia” for social partners of the VET sector.

UNDP VET project organizes 4-day training in July, 2011 for VET Sector methodologists with the program proposed by the RA Ministry of Education, to be headed by an international expert and supported by 2 local trainers.  The training will gather together specialists from all the Marzes of Armenia.
